Snake attack!

Goal for the month year:
Every Monday I will tell a story on my blog

This is story time from my weekend....This past Sunday, I woke up from a nap and had to "tinkle" (don't worry the story gets better).  I was texting as I walked into the bathroom. I was in arms reach of the toilet lid, that Josh left up (*we pick and choose our battles around the Tate home and I gave in).  I glance passed my phone that I was texting on and saw a copperhead snake wrapped around the hinge of the toilet lid!

*Real pictures soon to come*

So, of course I screamed and cried and ran for the door.  I started banging on the bathroom door because for a split second, I forgot that the door slides......

I finally escaped from bathroom and the snake's wrath and ran into my bedroom and told Josh so he could kill it.  Josh is not a dramatic person at all...like I have NEVER seen him be dramatic, but I told him about the snake and he started freaking out, saying "OH MY GOSH, I HATE THEM! I HATE SNAKES! I HATE SNAKES!"

After he came to grips with himself, he grabbed a dull hoe and some lysol to stun his vision...duh!  So Josh stood on top of the tub and stuck at the snake, but missed.  The snake went down the outside of the toilet and coiled up at the base of the toilet. (I am screaming around the house during this entire fiasco)  So then Josh stuck him again and gets his head.  The snake is biting at the hoe, then realizes he has lost this battle.  Well the snake stopped moving, so naturally, we thought he was dead.

Josh and I began celebrating our triumph.  We took pictures with/near it and were calling/texting our friends and family to let them know about how we experienced Man vs. Wild - Tate edition.

Since we couldn't leave it in our bathroom, Josh grabbed the hoe and a rake and attempted to scoop it into the trash can to take it outside.  WELL....when Josh did that, the snake started moving again because he was faking before!  So Josh stuck it again, and got the severed snake in the trash can.

Reason for the snake in our house:  The septic tank lid was moved slightly off the tank and have space enough for your fist to fit in there.  So there were snakes, frogs, and salamanders coming out of our toilet and sink!  No more!  Problem fixed :)
